Inlay must read as a drawing and behave as a floor or panel. Piece size, pocket depth, stone movement, edge strength, finish, substrate and the traffic it will receive all influence the pattern.

Floors, medallions, panels and integrated detail
Stonegraph makes geometric inlaid floor carpets, star medallions, floral pietra dura, marble-and-brass lotus panels, sacred back panels and inlay integrated into carved walls and mandirs. Designs can be developed from architectural artwork or commissioned references.
A floor seen across a hall needs bolder line weights than a close-viewed devotional panel. Tiny pieces are not proof of quality if they weaken edges or disappear at the intended viewing distance.
Materials and production logic
The palette may combine marble, contrasting natural stones, semi-precious material and brass. Compatibility, expected wear, staining risk, polish and maintenance are considered with the designer before the final selection.
Computer-controlled cutting can hold repeated geometry and pockets; fitting, adjustment, filling, grinding and the final continuous surface require patient hand work. Large compositions are mapped and numbered for installation.

Provide the design or reference, finished dimensions, application, substrate information, stone palette if specified, expected traffic or exposure, finish and delivery location. At concept stage, Stonegraph can advise line weight, modular divisions and practical material combinations.
Installation quality is essential to the final flatness and jointing of a floor. Overseas packages are supplied for installation and final finishing by qualified local trades using the project's approved method.

- Pietra dura is a form of decorative inlay in which precisely shaped coloured stones are fitted into a stone ground to create floral, geometric or pictorial designs.
- 02Can brass be combined with marble inlay?
- Yes. Stonegraph's photographed work includes marble-and-brass wall panels and floor details. Metal thickness, movement, finishing and maintenance must be coordinated.
- 03Can a large inlaid floor be supplied in sections?
- Yes. The composition can be divided into numbered modules mapped to a setting-out drawing for assembly and finishing by the site team.
- 04Is inlay suitable for high-traffic floors?
- It can be when materials, piece size, depth, substrate, joints, finish and maintenance are designed for the traffic. The project designer and installer should approve the complete floor system.
